About us

Engineered for Performance

Nexura was founded on a straightforward premise: the UK retrofit industry was producing work that looked good on paper and failed within a decade. We built a different kind of company.

Our story

Why Nexura Exists

The UK has a retrofit problem. Not a funding problem, not an awareness problem — a quality problem. Billions of pounds of government money have been spent over the past two decades on insulation programmes that failed because they were installed over damp structures, without adequate vapour control, by contractors whose only incentive was volume.

The result: millions of homes where new cavity fill has absorbed moisture and is now contributing to the wall decay it was supposed to prevent. Millions of homeowners who spent thousands on improvements that made their energy bills marginally better and their walls structurally worse.

Nexura was founded by engineers and surveyors who had spent years inspecting these failures. With a combined experience of over 20 years across retrofit, insulation, roofing, solar, and heat pump installation, our team built this company around a single principle: do it right the first time, or don't do it at all. That principle is reflected in everything: our Building Detox protocol, our independent inspections, our 12-month guarantee, and the fact that we never compete on price with contractors who don't hold themselves to the same standard.

What's Wrong with the UK Retrofit Market

Volume over quality

Many retrofit contractors are incentivised by installation volume, not installation quality. The government schemes that fund much of the industry reward completed measures, not lasting performance outcomes.

Hidden existing conditions

Pre-works surveys are often superficial. The true condition of wall cavities, loft structures, and existing insulation is rarely fully assessed before new materials are installed, burying problems rather than solving them.

Fragmented delivery

Most contractors specialise in one measure. Insulation here. Solar there. Roofing elsewhere. The result is a fragmented set of interventions with no joined-up thinking about how they interact, and no single point of accountability when something goes wrong.

What we stand for

Our Values

Four principles that govern every decision we make, on site and off it.

Precision

We specify to the detail, install to the millimetre, and document to the photograph. Precision is not a marketing word for us. It's the operational standard every job is held to, from initial survey to post-installation inspection.

Transparency

We photograph the condition of your property before we touch it. We document every stage of the work. We have independent inspectors sign off on the finished installation. Transparency is the mechanism through which we hold ourselves accountable.

Performance

EPC ratings are a proxy for performance, not performance itself. We design and install for measurable real-world outcomes: reduced energy consumption, lower bills, improved thermal comfort, and lasting structural integrity.

Independence

We don't take kickbacks from material suppliers. We don't push products on a preferred list. Every specification is made on technical merit, and every installation is checked by an inspector with no financial relationship to the result.
